Monday, September 7, 2020 - Olso Norway
Your tour starts in Oslo today! The capital of Norway and the most populous city. A travel assistant will greet the group at the airport and accompany us to our hotel in our private coach. Hotel check in is at 3pm, so if you arrive early, drop your luggage and explore the area on your own. Grab a bite to eat and get some fresh air after your overnight flight. Lunch and dinner are on your own today. We will provide a city map and ideas for your tourist time here.

Tuesday, September 8, 2020 - Oslo Norway
Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel this morning before we meet our guide. The guide will meet us in the lobby of the hotel. We will enjoy visits to the Folkemuseum and the Viking Ships Museum, followed by a panoramic city tour. Norsk Folkemuseum is located at Bygdøy in Oslo and has an Open-Air facility with 160 historic buildings. A main attraction is Gol Stave Church from around 1200. The museum focuses on the time period from 1500 until present time, and in-door exhibits feature Norwegian folk costumes, folk art, church art and Sami culture. See the world's best preserved Viking ships up close at Viking Ships Museum. All the Viking ships at this museum were ocean going vessels before they were hauled onto land to be used in burial rituals for their wealthy owners. In the burial mounds, archeologists unearthed skeletons, beautiful wood carvings and a diverse range of artifacts from the fascinating world of the Vikings. Admission for Norst Folkmuseum and viking ship Museum are included. Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

Wednesday, September 9, 2020 - Oslo Norway, Flam Norway
Today is an exciting day for scenery! You will be traveling on the Bergen railway. This is a unique experience on Northern Europe's highest-altitude railway line. The train line is consistently ranked among the top rail experiences in the world.
After breakfast, your guide will meet you in the lobby of the hotel to accompany you to the train station. Oslo train station is just a short walk from the hotel. (3 or so city blocks) You will travel 1st class from Oslo to Myrdal and then from Myrdal to flam on the Flam railway.
After arrival in Flam, will have a short walk to the Fretheim Hotel. It's just a few minutes from the train station.
This afternoon you will have a fjord safari into the Naeroyfjord, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see dramatic cliff sides and an impressive stretch of scenery. Take a moment to spot native wildlife, like seals, porpoises and eagles. At Undredal you will sample goat cheese. The town is inhabited by 65 people and 500 goats, so no wonder this village's specialty is cheese!
After your return to the hotel, you will have an included 3 course dinner at the Frethiem Hotel.

Thursday, September 10, 2020 - Flam Norway, Lofthus Norway
Today after breakfast, our group does a self guided walk to the Flam Port. You will take a 1.5 hour route via eco-friendly hybrid boat to Gudvangen. You will experience mountains, mighty waterfalls, colorful homesteads that cling to the mountainsides. Part of the trek will be through the UNESCO World Heritage site listed arm of the Sognefjord, co-ranked as the world's number one natural heritage site by the National Geographic Society. It's hard to put into words how awe inspiring the fjords are, you will be wowed!
After the boat ride, there will be a private coach for the ride to Lofthus. Your evening is at leisure in Lofthus, 3 course Dinner is included at the hotel.

Meet your private coach driver at the hotel lobby for your transfer to Bergen today. Traveling along the Hardanger National Scenic Route you'll encounter amazing scenic fjord landscapes with waterfalls and orchards.
We will be stopping today at the Hillesvag Wool Mill. The mill is one of ten Economusees in Norway today. You may see artisans at work handcrafting Norwegian products with love and care. And also see the process of wool making from start to finish. Some of the equipment here is over 100 years old! A 3 course lunch is provided today.
This evening you will have time at leisure in Bergen to relax and dine on your own.

Saturday, September 12, 2020 - Bergen, Norway
Today our guide meets us in the hotel lobby and we're off for a half day tour of Bergen. Explore the highlights of this colorful city. Strolling the wharf's fish market, where trading has occurred for some 800 years. Discover the small wooden housed from the 18th and 19th centuries. Included is a ride on the Floibanen funicular (fancy word for elevator) to the top of Mt. Floyen giving you magnificent views of the city and harbor below. And on a clear day, the mountains beyond!
Later this day you'll take a private coach to the pier. The destination is tiny Holmen Island where you'll have a 3 course dinner at the Cornelius Seafood Restaurant. Enjoy the views of the fjord, rocky islands, water craft and the mountains as you dine. After dinner you'll boat back to the pier and be transported back to your hotel.

Sunday, September 13, 2020 Bergen Norway
On our last full day in Norway, we will start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Our tour for this afternoon is to see the Norwegian Knitting Industry Museum. It is Bergen's only national industrial heritage site! A private coach will take us to the Museum that is approximately 30 minutes outside of town. It's housed in a former textile mill. There are tours at the museum as well as a shop and cafe'. Lunch is on your own.
This afternoon, you will return to the hotel via your private coach. Your last evening in Norway is at leisure with dinner on your own.
